Race Date: Monday April 8th 2024

Location: Southwestway Park Indianapolis, Indiana
Course Length: 5mile and 10mile (2, 5mile laps)
Course Difficulty: Hills 3 / Surface: 2 (1=easy, 5=difficult)

Price: 

  • 5mile- $40.00 through Feb 8th/ $55.00 through March 8th

  • 10mile- $50 through Feb 8th/ $65.00 through March 8th

  • Optional event T-Shirt for $15.00 if ordered by March 28th.

Start Time: 3:10p.m

Limited entry of 400 runners

View the 2024 total solar eclipse and enjoy a trail run race at the same time!

Your entry includes eclipse viewing glasses and a unique finisher medal!

Though optional you may consider bringing a headlamp for the start of your run.

 

The starting line will be in an open area where you can watch the eclipse happen. The starting horn will blow at 3:10 pm, just after the sun begins to be visible again. Runners may start immediately, or may wait up to 30 minutes to watch the eclipse emerge before starting. The race will be chip timed (elapsed start-to-finish) and results/awards will use this elapsed time.

**For those running series races, we've made this a bonus run for additional points. Same as other bonus races!**

EVENT SCHEDULE

Monday April 8th 2024

  • 1:00 pm: Check-in Open

  • 1:50 pm: Eclipse begins (C1)

  • 3:05 pm: Totality begins (C2)

  • 3:09 pm: Totality ends

  • 3:10 pm: Participants may start

  • 3:40 pm: All participants must be started

  • 4:45 pm: Awards for 5-mile

  • 5:00 pm: Awards for 10-mile

Race Day Rules

  • Race number must be on your front, and visible at all times. 

  • Follow the marked trail – no short cutting

  • Communicate and be courteous when passing or being passed.

  • Headphones (ipods, mp3 players, etc) or dogs are NOT permitted.

  • If you drop out of the race, please let us know at the finish line.

  • There is no time limit, but if you take longer than 2 1/4 hours you may miss awards and experience limited services.

 

Awards

  • Overall top three in each distance will awards.

  • Runners beyond these top spots, who place top three in any age category, will also receive awards.

  • Door prizes will be presented at random at the award ceremony.

  • Random prizes are provided by DINO Sponsors.

  • Male & Female: 0-9; 10-12; 13-15; 16-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 74-79; 80+

Additional Information & Refunds​

  • Do to the unique nature of this spectacular event there are no refunds, transfer or deferrals outside of the trail sisters requirements. In other words, all sales are basically final.
