In this Update:

Series Final, Swap Meet, and Champions | Grinning at Griffin | More DINO This Fall

Series Final, Swap Meet, and Champions

It's time to race in Indianapolis! Southwestway Park is the site as we conclude the 2024 series. Whether you're a first-time racer or gunning for a series title, don't miss this spectator-friendly course! From climbing to high-speed berms to technical sections to flat-out stretches, this course has it all.

Registration is available online through Thursday morning, and race-day registration / check-in is from 8 am to your start time.

Bring your cycling gear to sell at the DINO Swap Meet, open all day in the parking areas of the race site. Bring some cash and perhaps you'll find a great deal. DINO also offers the annual Apparel Blowout Sale, where past event t-shirts, sweatshirts, and more are offered dirt cheap.

This season, the top level of men's racing has nearly a 3-way tie coming into the final. Kevin Broadstreet, Rick Mezo, and Jake Fiddler are all within easy reach of the #1 spot for 2024. It will likely all come down to this final race, where a podium finish for any of them would jostle the standings enough to earn the series title. Many other series champion positions will also be determined next Sunday. Don't miss the action!

Grinning at Griffin

This year's Griffin Bike Park race course drew many praises as we ventured a bit deeper into the park's tougher trails. Expert and Sport rode an exclusive portion of black-diamond trail, "Foxtrot". Base, Clydesdale, and Intro skipped that portion but got a slightly tamer version of it on "Buffaloes". It was part of an action-filled weekend as DINO paired up with Griffin Bike Park's Bike-a-palooza festival.

Jake Fiddler came out victorious in Sunday's XC MTB, taking his first Elite/Expert win. Not far behind, Brenden Shrum and Kevin Broadstreet filled the podium as they continued their impressive seasons. Kaitlyn Mezo was dominant in Expert Women, ahead of Dina Greer and Harley Lavoy. William Toler bumped up to Sport Open and solidified his grasp as the overall winner of Sport Men for both the season and for the race day. In another well-stocked Junior field, Colin Lucas topped the field by over a minute, and Cora Snyder led the Junior females by 1 1/2 minutes.

More DINO This Fall

Recruit an adventurous partner or two for Central Indiana Adventure, in which teams of 2-3 people travel on MTB, foot, and canoe while using a map to follow the route. The event has a 4-hour "Beginner AR" as well as the slightly more hardcore 12-hour length. CIA is October 12, in Anderson, Indiana.

November 30 is Gravel Grovel - Indiana's original, epic gravel cycling race. For the XC Mountain bikers, check out the 24-mile option, which is heavy on singletrack and doubletrack! Gravel Grovel starts and finishes at Story Inn, in Brown County Indiana.

If you're a runner too, you won't want to miss Tecumseh Trail Challenge and Jackson County Ultras for endurance freaks, and the Outback Scramble for a shorter but more unusual experience!
