2008 PRIMERICA DINO MOUNTAIN BIKE SERIES

New Castle, IN - Westwood Park

Westwood Park is one of Central Indiana's best trails. It has been refined by HMBA over the five years since its creation into an excellent course. Preceding the race is Saturday's XTERRA DINO Triathlon New Castle . This race challenges athletes to a swim-bike-run triathlon held on off-road courses.

Relentless small climbs and turns add to this course's challenge. Each lap, riders will complete a loop around Westwood lake on a trail 10 miles long. Along the way, lake vistas and numerous unique bridges provide diversion from the ride's effort.

Pre-riding is available Friday evening or Saturday after 1 pm.

CAMPING: Camping is available on site. Sites with electric and water are first-come, first-served (no reservations). Primitive camping may also be available. Call Westwood Park for more information and pricing at 765-987-1232.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-70 to the New Castle exit. Turn north on to State Road 3. Go 6.0 miles to State Road 38, turn left (W). On State Road 38 go 1.7 miles to Greensboro Pike. Look for brown Westwood Park signs. Turn left (S) on Greensboro Pike and go 1.1 miles to County Road 100 South. Turn right (W) on 100 South, go 1.3 miles to tee into County Road 275 West. Turn left (S) on 275 West, go 1 mile straight into the Westwood Park entrance and follow the DINO signs.

PARK ENTRY: Westwood Park will waive gate fees on race day (participants only). Spectators will be charged the gate fee. If you visit the park any other day, you may be charged $2.50 entry fee per vehicle. Westwood Park : 765-987-1232. For race-weekend updates, call the DINO Hotline: 317-336-7553
